Inverter technology also results in increased comfort and installation flexibility. New models are available in both the VRV (model FXSQ-P & FXMQ-P) and Sky Air (model FBQ-C & FMDQ-B) ranges.

DC inverter-based concealed ceiling units offer higher efficiency
Daikin is a pioneer in the use of DC inverter technology in its compressors. Inverters allow modulating the speed of the motor to exactly suit system demand, resulting in optimum efficiency and comfort. Applying the same technology to the fan motors results in reductions in energy consumption up to 40% (e.g. the FBQ71C fan consumes 113W compared to 181W for the previous model FBQ71B). Furthermore, where possible the heat exchanger of the concealed ceiling units has been enlarged to further improve efficiency.
The units also benefit from the home leave function via the wired remote controller, allowing additional energy savings by preventing excessive cooling of unattended rooms in winter.

Easy and flexible installation
What’s more, the system offers automatic airflow adjustment via the wired remote controller. This function automatically fine-tunes the airflow rate to the nominal rate during installation. Thus, calculation of duct dimensions and ESP are no longer as critical to optimum system operation. This results in shorter and easier installation, avoiding multiple manual airflow adjustments of the ducted system. Design flexibility has also increased, with an enlarged range of available external static pressures supported (e.g. from 50 to 200 Pa for the FXMQ50P).

Improved user comfort
The new three-step airflow control allows the user to tailor the system for optimum comfort and minimum noise (down to 26 dBA for FXSQ25P and down to 29dBA for FBQ71C). The duct units blend with any interior, with only the intake and exhaust grilles visible. A built-in air filter ensures a constant supply of clean air, and an integrated drain pump increases system reliability.
