VRVIII raises the high-rise bar in Brazil
Daikin Europe N.V. (02/02/2007)
Daikin’s award-winning VRV technology revolutionised the air conditioning industry with its optimum combination of extreme energy efficiency and high comfort levels.
Until recently, VRV solutions specifically targeted buildings with up to 5,000-m² floor space. That changed in October of 2005 when Daikin introduced its VRVIII with a maximum capacity of 54 hp. Furthermore, VRVIII supports up to 64 indoor units, a maximum piping length of 1,000 metres, and is able to bridge a 90 meter level difference between outdoor and indoor units. Sales of VRVIII began in 2006.
Daikin wins contract for 141-metre Sao Paulo skyscraper
A case in point is the Eldorado Business Tower being built in central Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 141-m tall skyscraper will be one of largest buildings in Sao Paulo and includes a helipad and parking for 1,800 vehicles. It will have a total floor area of 67,650 m² and the showpiece high-rise is being developed to attract leading corporations that demand the best in office environments. In earlier times, cooling options would have been limited to industrial chillers feeding fan coil units. Not any more.
Daikin’s Brazilian distributor, DK Sistemas de Ar Condicionad, recently finalised the contract to install its new VRVIII systems in the Eldorado. Occupants will enjoy the high levels of comfort that have made VRV synonymous with the best in building climate control, and they will be able to take advantage of the high energy-efficiency of VRV. Features such as automatic refrigerant charging, monitoring and leak detection will ensure that the installations operate at optimum capacity and environmental safety throughout their lifecycle.
The future of high-rise belongs to VRV
VRVIII is available in an extremely wide range of types and models, and is a very energy efficient system on the market.
Add to this VRVIII’s reduced noise levels, simplified piping installation, automatic fault monitoring and diagnostics, easy maintenance, and optimum support for multiple compressors (rapid sequential start-up and redundant back-up operation), and it is easy to see that the future of high-rise belongs to VRV.
